Create a branch of any page
Need to draft a big update without disrupting the live page? Use the new Create Branch action from the page's action (...) menu to spin up an independent copy you can edit freely. Your branch keeps the original page's emoji and header image, and a branch icon in the byline makes it clear when you're working on a branch.
Compare changes with a visual diff
Before merging, open the diff view to see exactly what changed between your branch and the original page. Complex content like tables, layouts, and macros is shown as clear, readable placeholders, so it's easy to spot what's different at a glance.
Merge back with conflict detection
When your branch is ready, merge it back into the original page in a few clicks. If someone edited the original in the meantime, any conflicts are highlighted clearly so you can resolve them with confidence. Images and attachments are carried over automatically.
Keep an overview of your branches
The branch overview gives you a clear list of a page's branches, with working links back to the original and to each branch, so nothing gets lost.
