Check link status

Beta Feature - Check links status is currently in beta. A site administrator needs to enable it from the global settings before it becomes available in your spaces.

Link Management can check the links in your Confluence space and tell you which ones are working and which ones are broken. This works for both external links (pointing to websites outside Confluence) and internal links (pointing to other Confluence pages or content).

Before you can use this feature, a site administrator needs to enable it:

  1. Navigate to Confluence Administration > Link Management

  2. Find the Beta Features section

  3. Enable Broken Link Detection

Once enabled, the feature will be available in all spaces where Link Management is active.

Understanding link statuses

After a check completes, each link shows a status indicator:

  • Working - The link is reachable and responds correctly

  • Broken - The link could not be reached or returned an error

You can use this information to identify and fix broken links before your readers encounter them. To edit a broken link, simply navigate to the page containing it and update the URL.
