Beta Features

Task Reminder ships some larger improvements as beta features first. Beta features are switched off by default, can be enabled per site by a Confluence administrator, and can be switched off again at any time — your reminders then simply use the standard behavior again.

You find them in the Task Reminder global settings: open Confluence administration → Task Reminder and select the Beta features tab.

New sending process

The new sending process changes how reminders are prepared: instead of collecting tasks with the app's own access, Task Reminder prepares each reminder individually for every recipient, using that person's permissions.

What this means for your users:

  • Tasks on restricted pages are included. If a user can see a page, their reminder can now include the tasks on it — even when the page is restricted. With the standard process, such tasks can be missing from reminders.

  • Reminders match what each user can actually see. Every reminder is based on the recipient's own view of Confluence, not on a shared app view.

  • Built for large teams. The new process prepares reminders in batches, so it stays fast and reliable even with thousands of recipients.

How to enable it

  1. Open Confluence administration → Task Reminder.

  2. Select the Beta features tab.

  3. Turn on the New sending process toggle. The change takes effect with the next scheduled reminder.

This feature is in beta: it is fully functional, but we are still gathering feedback before it becomes the default. If you notice anything unexpected, you can switch back to the standard process at any time — and we would love to hear about it via our support.
