Task Reminder is built to respect Confluence permissions. That means reminders are generated from tasks that are visible within the permission context used by the app.
Why this is good: Atlassian permissions stay in control. Restricted content remains protected, and app access can be managed explicitly by your admins.
What this means for your reminders
-
If a task is on a page the app cannot access, that task cannot be included in reminder output.
-
If a user only has tasks on restricted pages, they may receive no task items in a reminder.
What admins can do
-
Review page and space restrictions for areas where reminders are expected.
-
Grant Task Reminder access using a group-based permission model where possible.
-
Use a consistent permission pattern for teams with many restricted pages.
Recommended setup pattern
For larger organizations, we recommend managing visibility through dedicated groups instead of page-by-page exceptions. This keeps your security model clean while ensuring reminders remain useful and predictable.
Troubleshooting checklist
-
Confirm the user has open assigned tasks.
-
Confirm reminder schedules and recipient groups are configured.
-
Confirm the relevant pages are accessible in the app permission context.
